Me and the motorbike also needed a little autumn ride of 91 km after two weeks:

The high-beam light is a default device: outside of inhabited areas turned on all the times (especially in overcast weather), through inhabited areas sometimes forget to turn it off.

Your momentary inconvenience does not concern me, knowing most of the vehicle operators DO NOT see incoming motorbikes from the side, or even from the front.

Without? Oh dear, I thought it was only the reflection of the Sun on something?!

If this can enhance the security and survival chances of the bikers, then there's one more entry in the KRESZ to be revised.
Of course regardless to how many times I crossed Gödöllő, high-beam has never had any meaning for those people who were doing something behind a vehicle's steering wheel, to suddenly burst into my lane without any turning signals; obviously forcing an emergency braking.
